Atelier de la Rose became the home of Sally Gaucheron (art and design historian) and Ed Herring (artist, retired lecturer and motorcyclist) in 1991.

The artist’s studio, the centre of Ed’s short courses in visual studies until his death in 2003, is an exclusive space in which artists and writers can work.

From the start, he and Sally set out to welcome international visitors seeking to discover the real France. Atelier de la Rose’s experience of helping a variety of people get the best out of the region has led Sally to develop her range of guided tours, so that visitors need not have their own means of transport in order to explore the beauty and history of this part of Occitanie.
